Installing Phon

Phon 3.0+ requires a 64-bit operating system.

Fonts

The default tier font for Phon is Noto Sans. Phon comes installed with a version of Noto Sans and Noto Serif with all IPA characters and most characters needed for European languages.

For other languages and inter-application compatibility we recommend installing the Noto fonts found at https://www.google.com/get/noto/ by following the instructions at https://www.google.com/get/noto/help/install/.

Windows

Installer - Download and execution the newest Phon_windows-x64_<version>.exe installer from the releases page.
Manual Installation - Download the Phon_windows-x64_<version>.zip package from the releases page.

macOS

Download the newest Phon_macos_<version>.dmg file from the releases page. After opening the disk image, drag Phon into your Applications folder.

Linux

A Linux version of Phon is unavailable right now.
